Paris, TN – Jan. 21, 2025 – The Mill Workspace, in partnership with The Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, held the Startup Bootcamp workshop on Jan. 21.
The event kicked off the first of eight sessions in a program designed to help recently launched businesses, or those in the idea phase, more clearly define their business model. The eleven applicants who were accepted into the program from Benton, Henry, Weakley, and Montgomery Counties, all expressed an interest in having a successful small business in Northwest Tennessee.
Led by The Mill CEO, Chris Donaldson, the first session served as an introduction to the course. "We had a great night learning about the hopes and challenges of the participants in the program,” said Donaldson. “I look forward to working with these entrepreneurs as they work through this small business startup journey."
Participants were guided through several exercises designed to help them learn about themselves, their personalities, their skillsets, and how they can use this information to help build out their team in the future. Remaining sessions will focus on marketing and sales, accounting, finances, business structure, planning, legal, and more.
Participant Augie Kinsey of Henry County said that coming to the first session of Startup Bootcamp helped conquer her fear. “I left feeling excited, encouraged, and supported by an exceptional leadership team of professionals, business owners, and community leaders.”
“We are excited to partner with The Mill Workspace to offer this impactful course to entrepreneurs in Paris and the surrounding areas of Northwest Tennessee,” stated Leslie Henegar, Executive Director of the Paris-Henry County Chamber. “We are eager to build meaningful relationships with the Startup Bootcamp participants and support them in achieving success with their small businesses.”
