Lake County High School CTE students recently participated in a Canva Branding Workshop sponsored by The Mill Workspace and presented by Marketing Specialist Elizabeth Pritchett.

Tiptonville, TN - October 21, 2025 - Lake County High School Career and Technical Education [CTE] students recently got an hour-long presentation on design-platform “Canva” from marketing specialist Elizabeth Pritchett. The workshop was part of a series of small business programs sponsored by The Mill Workspace and is one of over a dozen being taught across all nine counties of Northwest Tennessee in the fall of 2025.

Students participating in the workshop included those in Coach Kody Howard’s Marketing class and his Hospitality and Tourism class in addition to students in Coach Damio Yancy’s class, Jobs for America’s Graduates.

Howard stated the workshop would be helpful for students graduating high school with plans on attending college to work toward business degrees. He said students have been learning Canva for some time now, making the workshop a perfect fit.

During the presentation, Pritchett walked students through designing flyers for school events, creating branding kits, and understanding how to select fonts, images, and templates that create document balance and draw attention.

“We’re so thankful for our partnership with Lake County High School and their CTE program,” said Rachel Townsend, Community Manager at The Mill Workspace. “Providing hands-on learning experiences like the Canva workshop helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. It’s exciting to see students gaining design and marketing skills they can use in future careers or even in their own businesses. We look forward to continuing this partnership with Coach Howard in the future.”
