Martin, TN – January 23, 2026 - The Mill Workspace partnered with the Weakley County Chamber of Commerce and CRS CPAs for a workshop on “Getting Started with QuickBooks Online” that was held on Thursday, January 22, at the Martin Public Library.
The session was designed to help business professionals, solopreneurs, and small business owners build confidence in using QuickBooks and managing their day-to-day finances.
The workshop was led by Wendy Butler, CPA and Shareholder at CRS CPAs, alongside Accounting Associate Emily Smith. Together, they guided attendees through essential QuickBooks fundamentals, including how to set up QuickBooks Online for the first time, understanding key financial statements, linking accounts, opening a business bank account, and building a chart of accounts.
In addition to the basics, Butler shared practical tips for using subaccounts, creating balance sheets, uploading receipts to streamline audits, reconciling accounts, and troubleshooting common issues that small business owners often encounter.
This workshop is part of The Mill Workspace’s ongoing series of educational programs offered across Northwest Tennessee. These programs cover not only accounting tools like QuickBooks, but also a wide range of topics aimed at supporting local entrepreneurs and small business owners as they start, grow, and scale their businesses.
