Martin, TN - January 27, 2026 - If you’ve spotted the bright, cheerful Daisy food truck around Martin or anywhere else in Northwest Tennessee, chances are you already know it’s about more than just mini donuts and frappes. It’s comfort food with a story behind it.
Daisy Danes is owned and operated by Christy Dane of Martin, TN. The truck serves breakfast and lunch throughout NWTN and beyond, and every stop carries a deeper meaning rooted in resilience, love, and starting over.
After losing her husband, Nick, in 2022, Dane found herself searching for a new direction, something that could provide financial stability while also giving her a renewed sense of purpose. Though she had spent years working in real estate, life took an unexpected turn when she decided to launch Daisy Danes. The food truck features mini donuts, smoothies, frappes, and from time to time, a smoked BBQ special created just for Nick.
“It’s been an adjustment,” Dane said when asked how she juggles her two jobs. “But I raised four kids, so I've worked harder.”
The idea for the truck was inspired by Nick’s long-term dream of opening a BBQ trailer. Dane took that dream, reshaped it, and made it her own. By early 2024, Daisy Danes officially hit the road, rolling out just in time for summer.
Today, Daisy Danes is known for its colorful, inviting look, its made-to-order mini donuts, and an extensive drink menu that keeps customers coming back. The truck offers a variety of smoothies and frappes, all sugar-free and vegan-friendly.
“The caramel frappe and strawberry shortcake donuts have a tie for my favorite menu items, but the strawberry shortcake donuts are our best seller,” said Dane.
Behind the scenes, Daisy Danes is very much a community effort. Dane runs the truck with help from close friends and family, balancing it all alongside her full-time career in real estate. While the extra income helps, she says the true value comes from the sense of purpose the truck has given her.
Looking ahead, Dane has big dreams for her little donut truck. Her long-term goal is to take Daisy Danes nationwide, to every state in the country, especially those with beaches.
“I just want to see my little donut truck on the beach,” said Dane.
At its core, her mission is simple. Travel, serve great food, and build something she can one day retire on. More than anything, Dane takes pride in creating a business that allows her to connect with people and share her story.
“This is a personal mission for me, after having to start over in 2022. I would like to be an inspiration to anybody else that says, ‘Hey, I don’t know what I’m going to do.’
“Well,” says Dane. “You can do anything you want to do. You just have to do it.”
